addendum/reply to HIV PrEP: cabotegravir shines

(forwarded with his permission), who was involved in the study, with link to
FDA application for CAB approval and comment (not available to review) that
study in a small trial of cis-gender women at high risk in Africa had dramatic
protection from (89%) with CAB over TDF/FTC!!!

Thanks for your post about cabotegravir for PrEP! (we were
one of the sites conducting the HPTN 083 trial)
I did want to let you know that a sister trial HPTN 084 was
recently stopped early with similar findings of superiority of CAB over TDF/FTC
in cisgender women in Africa:
So we do have evidence of CAB safety and efficacy in cis
MSM, trans women, and cisgender women. Viiv has submitted an
application for approval of CAB for PrEP which is currently under review:
