Feboxustat: not so bad for the heart
The gout medication febuxostat has had a black box warning from the FDA since 2019 because of an increased risk of cardiovascular and all-cause death based on the CARES study, a post marketing randomized trial comparing febuxostat with allopurinol (see https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-adds-boxed-warning-increased-risk-death-gout-medicine-uloric-febuxostat ).
